Career biography: I’ve been in the nail industry over 10 years & have become a successful nail technician, artist & educator in that time. I've a wide industry experience sicne working with Burberry at London Fashion Week & behind the scenes for the X Factor. I've been a naitonal & international judge for the past few years with Nailympia & Professional Beauty, which hosts in four locations (Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester & London), my focus is to help and suport nail techs in all aspects so they can achieve their goals, as well as being an educator offering mentoring advice & learned skills.
Personal biography: I have such a burning passion for the nail industry that even in my downtimes, I love to be creative & artistic whether that’s creating mini mixed media or fantasy pieces in my spare time, whilst learning new techniques along the way. I love to travel & love anything to do with architecture, which inspires much of my work.
Why you believe in nail competitions?: I believe nail competitions are fantastic for growing skills on many levels. The fact you can get amazing feedback from all the professional judges is such a bonus too - as it really helps you fine-tune your ideas, skills and improves you practice time. Competing is incredible for self-growth & challenging oneself.
All that being said, on the other side you can also make so many connections & great friendships with people who share the same passion. The networking in the arena is second to none for nail artists.
Advice to competitors: You have nothing to lose & everything to gain. My biggest piece of advice is to please read the rules and then read them again. Check the scoresheets next and work with them alongside the rules, so you know exactly what you’re being judged on. Remember to have fun & ask for feedback.
