Career biography: I am a Global Nail Art Educator & Competition Judge, in the nail industry since year 2000. Having graduated from an arts school, my passion is always miniature. The principles I use for teaching nail art to my students differs from what you might have seen in other manicure schools. Instead of making students copy my work, I teach them the basic techniques that anybody can understand and repeat. I encourage my students lto earn the basics, then I give them a special program combining the simple techniques with complex designs that are easy to complete. Thus, even if you don't have an arts school background, you still can be a great nail designer.
Through the years I have worked with & judged nail competitions with Tom Holcomb, Danny Haile, Trang Nguyen, Alisha Rimando, Antonio Sacripante, Antony Buckley, Jewel Cunningham, Carla Collier, Amy Becker & many more.
Personal biography: My favourite hobby is creating handicraft items, cooking & baking
Why you believe in nail competitions?: Nail competitions are a great place for any nail tech to trust and showcase in their skills. It makes a technician boost the perfection of what they are icreating & moreover - earn more, meet new people, be the best of the best in their city & even their country (compared to the techs who don't compete).
Competitions are a great way to stay in the heart of this profession & be at the peak of your creativity & learn new things, of course!
Advice to competitors: Personal advice - don't be afraid! As the saying goes: the one who walks, will master the road.
Start with small steps, start with the newbie category. Gain trust in your abilities & skills. Learn not to be afraid of the competition time/ floor/ panelists & other competitors. Remember, that participating by itself is already classed as winning!
