Industry figures you admire: I admire a lot of fellow nail techs, old & new. One of which is my mentor Oana Flutur, followed by Madelene Wolf, David Fowler, Kostka Bojana, Doug Schoon, Marco Bonvicini, Leon Cabriales & many more.
Career biography: I started back in 2012 in my home country of Romania. I moved to London in 2013 & finished my Level 2 Beauty in 2016, in 2017 I finished my Level 3 Nail Technology followed by AET diploma & started teaching in 2018. In 2014 I discovered Nailympia & competed for the very first time, winning 2nd place in Gel Tip & Overlay. I've enjoyed competing ever since winning & losing too. In 2022 I won Top UK Tech Nailympia London & Grand Izemy Award NaiPro Cup Korea & decided to retire from competitions & have since become a judge. My nails & photo styling were used as the global image for Nailympia 2023 & i took the double cover for Scratch magazine 20th anniversary edition in 2023.
Personal biography: My hobby is nails. Doing a nice set relaxes me & I feel more happy. I enjoy my time in my small salon & academy located in Central London serving my customers with some nice nails & giving my students the best information that I've accumulated over the years. In my free time I love gardening.
Why you believe in nail competitions?: I believe in nail competitions because they can push you to be a better version of yourself & see what your limits are. Competing will only bring you knowledge. It doesn't matter if you win or lose. You will only win new friends, new tricks, new products & will only lose sometimes. When competing for the first time, do not think you know best & you are the best, because you might be disappointed. We are all good.
Advice to competitors: Always inform yourself before competing & find a mentor to guide you & then compete in more then one category - as you are only Division 1 once - so make the most of it.
