Career biography: Alex Fox's career began in Brooklyn, New York, in 1993, working on photographic journals. In 1998, she transitioned to the UK's first trade nail magazine, Nails Plus, as editorial director, where she led a team of 10 and organised The Nail Championships at Earls Court, London. In 2003, she co-founded the UK's Scratch magazine, a leading publication for hand, nail, and footcare professionals. Alex was instrumental in creating the Scratch Stars Awards in 2012, celebrating excellence in the UK nail industry. She also launched the first consumer nail magazine, Gloss & introduced Scratch Middle East in 2014 during her decade-long stay in Qatar. Returning to the UK, Alex took on the role of global director for Nailympia. She also partnered with industry leaders Marian Newman and Jennie Nippard to create the Nail Safari, an annual 5-day educational event hosted on her family’s zoo, has championed global nail artistry thru GlossaryLive.com & works as a consultant & freelance journalist.
Personal biography: Alex finds joy in the simple pleasures of cooking and gardening. She loves creating delicious meals & nurturing her garden, where she cultivates a bee & butterfly haven. Meditation is a cornerstone of her daily routine, allowing her to maintain balance and mindfulness. Living a life inspired by the principles of Buddhism, Alex strives for compassion, wisdom and inner peace. She cherishes spending quality time with her family and enjoys moments at their family zoo, a unique and serene sanctuary they’ve built together.
