The competition pushed me to elevate the standards of my work to an entirely new level, ensuring that I consistently strive for excellence in every aspect of my craft. As a result, I have naturally become faster & more efficient, allowing me to handle complex designs & techniques with greater ease & precision.
Beyond improving my technical skills, Nailympia has also expanded my vision of what is possible for my career. Career biography: I migrated from Mexico when I was 15 & started from scratch, working in the food industry for a few years before deciding to pursue a career in nails. I was attending college with hopes of becoming a radiologist or ultrasound technician, but financial challenges & my legal status made it difficult to continue. Determined to create a better future, I shifted my focus & became a licensed nail technician in 2013.
After gaining experience working in several salons, I went independent in 2016 & founded Nailed Up. By 2019, I expanded my vision by opening a salon & building a team, turning Nailed Up into a thriving business. Recently, I took that vision a step further by opening Nailed Up Academy, where I can share my knowledge & passion with aspiring nail artists. Since then, I’ve poured my heart into growing the brand and honing my craft, earning numerous accolades along the way. I’m excited to continue pushing boundaries & setting new standards in the nail Industry.
Personal biography: I love traveling & showing my daughter the world, new experiences & going on adventures together. Family is at the heart of everything I do - I cherish every moment as a mum & a wife. When I have some downtime, I enjoy nature walks, diving into new learning opportunities & watching horror movies for a bit of a thrill. I also love working out & listening to self-mastering & personal development audiobooks.
Why you believe in nail competitions?: Nail competitions serve as a catalyst for continuous improvement. They push me to constantly challenge myself & strive for excellence . The high standards set by these competitions compels me to refine my techniques & ensure my work is at its best. As an entrepreneur, I greatly value the expert feedback from judges, which helps me gauge my skill level & identify areas for growth. Their guidance is crucial in setting benchmarks & motivating me to elevate my craft, keeping me at the forefront of the industry.
Advice to other competitors: For fellow competitors, view each competition as an opportunity to grow. Embrace challenges & never settle for 'good enough' — constantly push your limits & refine your techniques. Listen to feedback from judges & mentors; their insights are invaluable for gauging your progress & setting new standards. Build a supportive network that motivates you & invest in your continuous learning & skill development. Stay true to your passion, be patient with your progress & remember that every setback is a stepping stone to becoming a better artist.
