A Grand Celebration of Nails at Nailympia Mexico 2024 – The Results
For the fourth Nailympia event of the year, 172 competitors participated in the third Nailympia Mexico hosted by Dafne Fernandez on 6-7 July 2024 in Mexico City.
Sponsors lined the arena, while spectators amassed to observe the two-day event.
Running nine arena competitions over two days means the contests ran back-to- back with little time in between for those who competed in all the events.
Fourteen countries were represented comprising Italy, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Nepal, Poland, UK, USA, Germany, Hungary, Colombia, Portugal and Mexico.
Eight booth judges flew into Mexico City with Alisha Rimando (USA) as acting head judge alongside Vincenzo Russello (Germany), Zrinka Vuksan (Canada/Croatia), Yeo Jung Shim (USA/Korea), Guin Deadman-Littlefield (USA), Fabiola Flores, Hemi Park (USA/Korea), Rocio Del Prado. These eight stayed out of sight and scrutinized nails behind the curtain while 15 floor judges, trained by Dafne, policed the floor.
A host of sponsors supported the event with a presence at the event where they showcased their nail products, collet ions and tools, as well as offering prizes to the winners and a special gift for judges too. Sponsors comprised, Stanzy nails & Beauty, Lovely Nails, Covett Nails, Ixzo Nails, Wapizima, Golden Nails, Ä Nails, Roubloff Mexico, Rome*Nails, Glamourosa Nails.
“This nail fayre and competition duo was in a league of its own, Dafne and husband, Oscar, presented a first-class nail experience that filled a large void for nail-focused events in this part of the world,” enthuses global director, Alex Fox. “I flew into the event a day later than expected to find an arena fully decorated and ready to rumble. And rumble it did! Music filled the air, booths were crammed with visitors keen to touch and feel products, while the buzz and thrill of competition that we’ve grown to love and has become somewhat of an addiction for some, radiated through the atmosphere. We were all entrenched in the wonderful motivating energy that Nailympia cultivates.”
Looking forward, there are two Nailympia events left in 2024. Nailympia San Antonio (15-16 September) and Nailympia London – its 20th anniversary event – on 13-14 October at Salon Beauty, Excel, London. Both are open for registration.
