STOP PRESS – IMPORTANT NEWS from ALEX FOX for Nailympia London

STOP PRESS – STOP RESS – STOP PRESS – STOP PRESS

IMPORTANT  Information from Alex Fox, global director, Nailympia Competitions

After much thought, deliberation, assessment – and naturally a little sadness too –  it has been decided to cancel Nailympia London 2020 alongside its host event the Olympia Beauty exhibition, which were both to be held this coming October in London.

The Covid-19 pandemic has thrown up many challenges, obstacles and restrictions that mean it would be nonsensical to proceed with this event in 2020 and therefore this decision has been made with the best interests of all involved from exhibitors, judges and attendees to staff, competitors and everyone in between.

Therefore, with all things considered in the areas of health & safety, arena risk assessments, social distancing, travel concerns (both national & international), mental health and the happiness of all involved, the best route is to postpone this annual nail event and host it at Olympia Beauty on 2-3-4 October 2021.

NEW DATES for your NAIL DIARY  2-3-4 October 2021

I thank you for your support, patience & understanding – and look forward to when we can all meet again on the other side of our ‘new normal’.

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR – When we’ll Re-Join the Ring of Hands

OLYMPIA BEAUTY postponed until October 2021

OLYMPIA BEAUTY 2020 POSTPONED TO SUNDAY 3 – MONDAY 4 OCTOBER 2021

Olympia Beauty, autumn’s biggest event for beauty professionals has been postponed to 2021, due to COVID-19.

After considerable thought and discussion with our friends and colleagues in the beauty industry, we have decided to postpone Olympia Beauty 2020 until Sunday 3 – Monday 4 October 2021.

Please be assured this has not been an easy decision, but after careful consideration and looking at our overall market sector, as event organisers we feel we would be doing the beauty industry a disservice by insisting the show goes ahead.

We mentioned that the decision was not an easy one. We have a contractual and nancial obligation to the venue, and although we have had to pay a substantial fee to enable us to postpone, we feel this is simply an investment in the very best interests of our exhibitors, visitors and the future of Olympia Beauty.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and more news about Olympia Beauty 2021 will follow in the coming months.

Nailympia Mexico postponed until 2021

NAILYMPIA MEXICO event moved to October 2021

The recent rise in Covid19 cases across Mexico has led the organiser, Dafne Fernandez, and its host of regional sponsors for Nailympia Mexico to postpone the event for 2020 in the interests of safety for all.

The coronvirus may be dissipating in some regions around the world, yet in others it is rising, while others deliberate over a second wave, which may or may not come. It is with this uncertainty in mind that the organiser and sponsors in Mexico have called the decision to postpone until 30-31 October 2021.

“It is with a heavy heart that myself and Dafe Fernandez have agreed to postpone this event for a year,” sighs Alex Fox, global director Nailympia Competitions. ” However, during our discussions it became clear this was the best route forward. We are both very sad to see it off the menu for 2020, but positive and excited for 2021, when we can, as a nail community, get excited about all events and projects as they spring to life post-lockdown.”

www.worldmeters.info cites Mexico as 12 in the global list of Covid19 cases (over 23,000 deaths) , the UK at 5 (over 42,000 deaths), USA at 1, Brazil at 2 with Estonia at 105 in the list with 1983 cases to date with 69 deaths.

Joanna Bandurska donates personal care products to local hospital workers

The 2019 Nailympia Global Cup champion and educator for Indigo Nails Lab in Poland has amassed essential products for her local hospital workers in Szpital Specjalistyczny w Chorzowie.

Joanna Bandurska and husband Michal Bandurski, collected much needed disinfectants, gloves, caps, antiperspirants, body lotions and hand creams from their own personal supplies in order to join the community effort to support and help medical staff. Commenting on the offering Joanna notes, “It’s really important to help each other in times of need and the healthcare sector is in great need right now. It’s important to ask your local hospital workers what they need, as they are working long and stressful hours. They are in need of PPE yes, but also personal hygiene items too.

“Let’s not be indifferent – they need our help and helping is a great thing to do.”
